Daniel Ablett was the son of Philip Ablett and Elizabeth _________. He was born December 24, 1811, in England and was christened February 26, 1826, at Chatteris, Cambridge, England. He married Mary Chreswell in England and they came to the United States in November, 1834. He located first in Schaghticoke, New York, and resided there for 22 years. He became a citizen of the United States in November, 1846. In 1870, at the age of 59, he came to Cohoes, New York. He died at Cohoes, New York, at 4:00 pm, March 16, 1897, at the age of 85, and was buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, New York.
