I wonder whether it can be the same person?
She? apparently arrived on the shores of Ceylon, supposedly to meet her future husband, but unfortunately found out that he was already married. Then a sympathetic chap took her under his wing, with a "business deal". This was, he would put her up in a hotel for a few weeks to hopefully woo her to the alter. She secummed to his powers of persuassion, he then left his wife, and so the story of the Bawa's began.
It would be interesting to find out more because the Bawa's son married one of my ancient relatives, Bertha Marian Campbell Schrader.
Spookily, I used to live round the corner in Hertfordshire and play golf in St. Albans.
