Hi Cathy, Thanks for the reply. Three years ago Sharon posted a query on the interet and I replied and she said she was Mark's daughter and the she was born when Mark was older. She said Mark had told her when she was a little girl that he was part indian and that h told her wha kind bu being a little girl at he time she did not remember what he told her. She said he never talked about his family. She uset me because although she knew very little I thought she would check with her brothers who she said were still living but she made no effort. I sent her all the information I had fond (I have found a lot more information since then) and then she never replied again. I emaled her a number of times and she still did not reply and I did not feel that was very fair. She finally replied and said her husband was a truck driver and they were on the road a lot and she did not have time. I sent her an email and asked if I culd contact her brothes and ask if they could help me with some informatin and se never replied again. I appreaciate your offer to contact your uncles and aunts and ask where Lucinda Ray Ables (their grandmother) died and where she was buried (It was probably Al or Oklahoma) and the question about the native American heritage. I am sure theyprobably remember stories told when they were young. As you sid Sol was Mark's brother. His name was Silas. I have a list of all Mark's siblings. His sister Sarah Elizabeth Ables married Lloyd Smith. They went to Houston Texas. My grandfather Eric Smith was their son. The O B Smith you mentioned is my great uncle Ollie. My great unfle Coy, their brother, was born in Mississippi. I ordered a copy of his birth Certificate. On one side it had his Englishname. On the other side it had his indian name. It was common knowledge Sarah Elizabeth Ables was part indian. No one seems to know wht kind. Any information your uncles and aunts could share with you would be greatly appreciated. Maybe they know when and where Lucinda Ray Ables diedand is burined. Sometimes family Bibles can give a lot of information. If you will take the time to check with all of them I will be glad to share with you the thousands of hours of research I have done. I have found information no one had or knew or was able to find. You might find this interesting. A family story tells of a Big Foot Ray. I don't know if he was a Ray or an Able. The story says he was killed in Texas. One story says he was killed while riding a stallion. another story says he was killed in a bar fight in Texs. I have heard that he was a cousin of Sarah Elizbeth Ables andMark Ables and I have heard he was th rother of Lucinda Ray. Noone seems to know exactly who he was. Many people have heard the story of Bigfoot Ray. With a namelike that he must have been an indian. You might ask if any of yor aunts or uncles have ever heard of Bigfoot Ray. If any of them knows when and wehre Lucinda Ray bles died that would answer a question I have searched for over five years trying to find. It seems like that would be easy information to find. Also, if Mark told Sharon that he was part indian and she I believe was their youngest child maybe his older children have a lot more infoarmaion. Thanks for contacting me. I'm excited that we can work together and maybe find a lot of information. Thanks, Ross Notify Administrator about this message?
