I have a few different birthdates for some of the children of John Ables. Here they are in case they are of any help:

Mary Ann - Aug. 16, 1804
Bethnel - Oct. 16, 1805
John - Feb. 3, 1807
Benjamin - Feb. 9, 1808
Rebecca - Feb. 14, 1811

Elizabeth - Jan. 3, 1814
Alexander - Feb. 23, 1815
William - Nov. 4, 1816
Hannah - Feb. 4, 1818
Catharine - Feb. 18, 1821
Mary - Apr. 11, 1823
Jane - Apr. 4, 1825
Reuben - Nov. 3, 1826
Emma - Dec. 16, 1828
AlyAnn - Jan. 31, 1832
Thomas - Feb. 20, 1834

I also have the birthdate for John Ables as Jan. 1, 1780 and date of death as Sept. 22, 1867.

All the dates (and spellings) are from Bible entries that were apparently written sometime after the fact so I don't know how accurate they are. I have a few other items and would be happy to share.

A question: family lore is that the Ables name was shortened from the original Dutch name. Do you have any information on that?
