I am still interested in hearing from anyone kin to this Ables or who knows someone who is. Re: Ables message #131.
William F. Ables was the son of William Ables and Mary Vandegriff. The older William supposedly was killed during the Civil War (unconfirmed) and Mary later married Alfred Hill Slover in Tennessee and moved to Arkansas. Mary and William's two children were William Franklin and Elizabeth.
William Franklin Ables married Ida Dell Dooley and their children were:
1. Bertha, Married John Thomas Maye, no children.
2. Ethel, Married William Rector Cargile, Children were:
Louise Cargile,b. 1915, Married Eberle Luther
Byrum
Mildred Cargile,b. 1918, Married .....Huffman
Harold Cargile, b. 1920
Gladys Raye Cargile, died as baby

Jo Ann Cargile,b. 1932, Married ......Sorrells
Billy Cargile, b. 1934
3. Floyd E. Ables, Married Hazel McAlister, children:
Reba Dell Ables, b. 1923-24?

Paul Edward Ables, b. 1934
As I said in message #131 I have pictures of William F. and of Bertha, Ethyl, and Floyd that I would like to pass on to their descendants. William and his sister Elizabeth were step-siblings of my grandfather Thomas J. Slover.
