Ransom and Sarah Sinkton Ables

I am researching Ransom Ables and wife Sarah Sinkton. In the 1850 Lincoln County Tennessee census they are listed with several children. All of them are girls. There youngest daughter, Sarah Jane, is my great great grandmother. Family stories that have been told through the generations say that Ransom and Sarah were shot in cold blood by Yankee soldiers during the Civil War. This would have happened around Lynchburg, Tennessee. I havenot been able to find this family in the 1860 census. Please , if any one could help , it would be appreciated.

Ransom Ables 50
Sarah 24
Eliza J. 11
Vester C. 9
