hello mr. whitman!
I'm the grandson of herman lachner, who was left in austria (lustenau, close to the board to switzerland)by elisa lachner.
hermann was born on 2nd june 1909 in lustenau and died in may 1984. he had 9 children. the oldiest, lucie, is born on 3rd. march 1931 and is my mother.
she still remembers receiving letters from a son of elisa after the end of the 2nd. worldwar. unfortunately they weren't able to translate the letters, which were written in english.
i'm living in austria, schwarzach, vorarlberg (near the lake of constance). my mother is still living in lustenau and very interested in the life of elisa.
in which part of america are you living now?
