Cheryl,

It is only a guess on my part. ABLER is not a common name, and the fact that two of that name settled so close to one another supports the idea of a possible relationship. I have another Nicholas Abler listed in my notes from the 1850 census in Calumet Twp,., FdL Co. His wife's name was Catherine and they had 8 children. I don't know the connection, if any, of this family either.
