researching my family history it appears we are ancestors of lieutenant abernathy who along with john paul jones attacked the port of whitehaven in the 1700`s, this infoemation came from my mother whose maiden name was edith joyce abernethy, the familiy originated from the whitehaven area, she had an uncle who emigrated to canada, they have since lost touch i think they moved to calgary, can anyone help?
