I also have several photographs marked Abernethy, 29 High St. Belfast and they have the W symbol also. These are photos of my great grandmother, Elizabeth Ryan, and some of her brothers and sisters. I know she was born in 1862 and immigrated to New York in 1888. She appears to be about 20 in the picture. She died in 1934. My family never knew these photos existed until last year when my father received them from a cousin in her 80's, so we weren't able to ask my grandparents about them. I have seen a similar photo for sale on ebay, and the seller says it is also marked "photographer by Royal appointment". We also received some cabinet cards of Elizabeth's parents marked T.McKey & Co. Newry. I haven't tracked that studio down as yet. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Marta Gruesbeck, Beavercreek,Ohio
