I am looking for information on Rev. John Wesley Abernethy born in NC in 1830 and Married Martha Anne Rea. I have the linkage frrward but do not know his mother or father anr the rest of the family tree backward. he is my great grandfather and is burried with his wife in the old matthews Cemetery. According to census information, he, his mother and his father were born in NC. Does anyone have any information on him. Our family always maintained the original spelling (AbernEthy). Aber in Scottish means "mouth of a river". The clan lived at the mouth of the Nethy River. There is a town in Aberdeenshire called Nethy Bridge. This is the Abernethy Forest. Please send me any information on John Wesley's history. I have photos of him. Thanks, Bruce Abernethy bca@kcs-sys.com
