G. Elton Abernethy, 59, died Aug. 21, 2004. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Nashville United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve McElroy officiating.

The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Nashville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Nashville, N.C. 27856.

Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home, Nashville.
