I am researching John S. Abernethy b. 1869. He married Margaret Thompson and they lived near Dallas, NC. I have found Margaret's parents, but have not found John's parents. Could John be the son of Miles Abernethy? I am new at this and do not want to give the wrong information to my friend. (John and Margaret Abernethy are her grandparents)
