Theresa,
I just returned from a trip to Charles City County, Virginia. While I was there I was able to aquire a few different sources that have helped me understand the Abernathy family. I have not read it all as of yet it contains about 250 pages. I looked Robert Abernathy and Sarah Nichols. I show that David Abernathy is Roberts Father and not Miles as you ask. I would like to get you as much of this information as possible, but I find that I could not send it all on this message board.
