Hi Jill,
"Cobb Chronicles" that's a really good name. It surprised me, I guess I had in my mind that the title would be "Abernathy something or other" - I guess I think everyone's book ought to start with Abernathy. Anyway I wish you all the best with your book and don't wait forever to publish it, you'll never get 100% accuracy so just do the best you can.
As for the Mary Abernathy who I was asking about, I was just doing a search for something and I don't remember what and that caught my eye and I don't know anything about her. I like to do searches on the internet and just see what comes up, sometimes you get a good one. I don't read all of that stuff, I just look at the headlines of the first few- I get about half way down the first page - I just type in whatever I am looking for like "James Abernathy Lincoln County" and I have found some more.
Since I have never been to most of my ancestors old homesteads and most likely will never go, I do like the Google street views, etc and on a day like today when it is about 10 degrees outside and I have the time I do enjoy looking. Lately I was trying to find that old meeting house on the old maps that was north of Mount Holly and might be covered by Mountain Island Lake and the John Oliver gold mine which was 5 miles from Charlotte and across the Catawba River on the west side. I did not find either.
Charlie
