Maybe I just happen to have a mind that tends to latch onto a clue and 'worry it to death' like a stuffed dog's toy until there's nothing left but stuffing strewn all over the place. After which, with any luck, I might reconstruct it.
I also have read voraciously nearly all my life (often books the teachers didn't assign), and maybe that, too, contributes something.
You may be interested to know that there are many of your Abernathy cousins still living in Limestone County. Thanks to one energetic cousin, I have pictures of some of the tombstones of Abernathy kin buried there. Including one of the stone of Inez' father's next oldest brother who fought for the Confederacy.
