Thanks so much for the information.

My great-aunt, Mary Bilan, married Ernest Abernathy. He committed suicide although he appeared to be a very prominent businessman in OK. Yes, their only son Ewing Bilan Abernathy died in a car accident. I have a number of newspaper articles I could share if you're interested. I also have photos of and have visited the large home they built in Lexington. It is now a B&B. Our family lost the home when Aunt Mary re-married and the new husband essentially swindled her.

I've seen references to a Morgan Abernathy in the Lexington/Purcel area. Do you know if this is another brother?
