Patricia,
It isn't Granville County, N.C. It is Tryon County, N.C. which became Lincoln County, N.C. It says Tryon County, N.C. and ordered to be registered by Ezekiel Polk, Clerk of Court who was later shown as Clerk in Lincoln County, N.C.
(Also Ezekiel Polk was related to our president, James Knox Polk who came from the John Knox family of Scotland and lived in Rowan/Lincoln county area. John Knox was I believe the starter of the Presbyterian church. Some of his realtives are buried at Unity Presbyterian church, Lincoln County, N.C.)
Sorry to dispute you but I made the copy in 1986 at Lincoln County Courthouse from the original book. Could this Ulrich Crowder be a second or third? You need to research more but I'm not researching Crowders. I do know that Leeper's creek is near my house and it is noted in the Lincoln County, N.C. history book (old map).
