After reading these post during my research I thought I would add my 2 cents.
I have a book written as an account of the following seemingly related Abercrombies. I am decended from Hannah Harriet Abercrombie. She married John Nesbitt Nash.

According to my source written in 1972 Laurens Couthy SC.
Lindley Abercrombie ~1810 - 10/1/1868 m. Rachel Mahaffrey
second wife Winnie ??
1850 Census Lurens County record.
Lindley Abercrombie 40
Rachel 40
Mary 19
Elizabeth 16
Caldwell (Colville) 14
Lindley 12
Rachel 10
John 8
Cynthia 6
Hugh 4
Anderson 1
Mary Abercrombie 86 Note: Born 1764 dau of Thomas Lindley, widow of Colville Abercrombie 10/4/1752 - 8/26/1838 *Prob. 1762*
Thomas Lindley was a soldier of the Revolutionary War. Established DAR record.
Graves os a number of the above are at Rabun.

Anderson Abercrombie 11/10/1848 - 11/7/1928 m. Kate W. Bolt 11/3/1853 - 5/12/1925 buried at Rabun.
Chhildren include
Tallulah
David W.
Evans
Herbert Abercrombie.
