James Abercrombie (1765-1825) son of John Joseph Abercrombie and Ann Kellett was married twice. His first wife Nancy (LNU) was born circa 1768 and died shortly before the 1790 Federal census. Children of James and Nancy were Nancy (1784), Christiana (1785), James (circa 1787), Barbara Allen (1788) and Abia (1789). Included in the 1790 Federal census as a "family unit" was James Abercrombie (adult), his minor son and four minor daughters as shown above. James Abercrombie and his second wife Mary Ann Beck (Indian blood-line) were married shortly after the taking of the 1790 Federal census. Mary Ann Beck was the mother of John (born 1791)and his known younger siblings Elizabeth, Mahala, Young Davis and possibly others. Mary Ann Beck was NOT the mother of James Abercrombie's children born before 1790.
