Abelin, Isle of Wight, 1820
Am looking for information on Phillip Abelin, served in Canada with the British Army in the early 1800's (Sergeant 60th Regiment). Later a tailor in Newport, Isle of Wight.
I am assuming that Abelin is an English adaption of Abeln.
Abelin is a very rare name in England in the 1800's.Anyone come across it?
