Hello Kay, I have a Jane Abell b. abt. 1811. married to William Hammond. Jane was born in Indiana according to the 1850 Indiana census. However she was down as Jane Labell. I was told by someone on the Hammond site that it was Abell, possibly Beard. She had the following children. Elizabeth, MARGARET, Emily Alice, Sarah, Hester A. and Joshua. Williams middle initial is J. so I would think that would be Joshua. I have no information on Jane other than a sister may have been Alice. If you think we could be sharing a Jane please let me know.
