Dear Toni Gurley,
This is what I found in the book, "The Abell Family in America" by H.A. and L.P. Abell: John Barton Abell; married Jane Spalding, sister of Archbishop Martin John Spalding; married 2nd, Maria Clark, daughter Eleanor Spalding Riney and granddaughter Benedict Spalding.
Children by Jane Spalding:
Mary Teresa, b. 1845; d. 1879; m. Robert Lancaster.
Children by Maria Clark:
Eleanor (Nellie); m. Nich, son of Richard Wathen.
William; d. in Callifornia
