I have noticed on the Rotan site that my ancestor was Jane Abell, not Labell. Jane was born abt.1818,1820 in Vanderburgh, Indiana. She married William Hammond, thought to have been from Maryland(census info 1850, he was a Justice of the Peace. They had the following children: Elizabeth b.1830, Margaret b.1837, Emily Alice b. 1840, Sarah b.1841, Hester A. b.1844 and Joshua b. 1847, all in Spencer Co. Indiana. I also have Jane and William married in 1839 which would make the first two born before William and Jane married. I have also been told Janes last name was Baird. Did a Abell marry a Baird leaving Jane a widow with two daughters? Thanks for any help. Colleen Rowe
