Hi Liz. Yes there must be a connection. I have some new details of the family.My GGG Grandfather was named Joseph Abel he came from Hatherleigh and was married to Ann King from Inwardleigh. One of their sons was named Joseph. You are right there seems to be a lot of Johns Joseph Isreal. I know some of them went to Onterio Canada, one RICHARD went to the U.S.A. I am new to this and am still trying to put everyone in place. I can give you more names if you need them. Hope to hear from you soon. Heather.
