I am seeking information re: Elmer B. ABEL and his children. Elmer moved to Salem 1930/31. He was associated with the Salem Lumber company, he was Mayor of Salem, he was a member of the fire dept. and he was president of the Community Club.
Elmer's first wife (Freda Locke Abel) died in 1934. They had 4 children (Claire, Clarice, Cloyce and Clarabell who died in infancy). Elmer's second wife was Freda's sister (Fern Locke Abel). They had one child (Beverly Ann). Fern died in 1936. Both of Elmer's wives died of TB at the Oakdale Sanitarium. Fern & Freda were my grandmother's sisters. My grandmother also died of TB shortly after my father's birth.
