I am the 2nd great granddaughter of
Christian Abel b: 12/1810 of Germany married Fredricka Schutzen in 1835.
Children: Augusta, Charles, Dora, Minnie, Annie, Heleby and Guss.
Entered U.S. in 1855 with seven childred, sponsored by relatives named "Small" who owned a
Dairy farm in Detroit. Worked in foundry in Detroit. Moved to Sanilac County, Marlette Twp. in 1868 into log cabin built by previous homesteader. Deed is signed by Abraham Lincoln. Christian built present house.
