My husband's maternal grandfather was a Ronald Ramsay Abbs. He served in WWII, so he was probably born around 1920 give or take 10 years. I believe he was originally from Durham, probably born in Tyne and Wear. He died in Oxfordshire in the early 1980's. I'd be interested to learn more of the Abbs family before him, and how the Ramsay name comes into it. My husband and I would like to use Ramsay if we have any children, but I'd like to know where exactly the name comes from.
