John Abbs' 1730-40 East Anglia Origins
Posted by: Jim Abbs (ID *****0714) Date: April 01, 2007 at 14:43:22
  of 143

John Abbs showed up in Longstanton, Cambridgeshire sometime around 1745, apparently about 17-19 years old and appears to be the first Abbs in that area. He went on to be the major Abbs ancestor for many of the Abbs in Cambs County. The question is, where did he come from? We assume Norfolk, but searches around East Anglia to date have revealed no John with the right age, who was present before 1740 or and gone subsequently.
