Hi, I also have a great, great grandfather named Franklin Abbott from Ohio (not sure where in Ohio). He married Ida Belle Whittaker. Their children were Mary Ethel Abbot and, I think, Merrit Abbot. Mary Ethel is my great-grandmother. She married William Wiess and they had my maternal grandfather, Henry True Wiess. Unfortunately I don't know much about the Abbott's but my aunt has ancestry info that I could investigate. Do you know if Franklin Abbott (your great, great grandfather) married Ida Belle Whittaker? If so we are distant cousins.
