Hi Kevin......Your response is attached to my response to Kevin's message, so I doubt that he will be alerted to it unless you click back and respond to his message direct.

But, regarding the "German" reference.....Edward ABBEY, the writer, was descended from Johannes AEBI (1816-1872), through his son, John ABBEY (1850-1931), through his son, Paul ABBEY. John was married to Eleanor Jane OSTRANDER (1856-1926). Johannes AEBI had come over from Switzerland in 1869, on the ship Westphalia. Johannes wife, Magdalena GASSER (1825-1880), and children, journeyed 2 years later to New York on the German ship Helsatia.
