You might be able to connect your line to other Abbotts. We are participating, and our earliest known ancestor was an "Abbett" from Georgia, although I don't know if there would necessarily be a connection. I think there were a variety of ways of spelling common names way back in the day. Our family eventually went the conventional "Abbott" route. Happy hunting!
