I notice you live in MI, perhaps our lines are closely related. At any rate, I know little of where my great granmother, Melvina, was born. Perhaps we could exchange some information. Melvina married James Monroe Boss and farmed in Brown county IL until the death of Mr. Boss, then she moved to Galesburg, Knox county IL.
I've wondered how she ended up in IL marrying a man descended from pre-revolutionary war North Carolina stock?
