A few words about my family

Hello to every Abarca who is out putting their mark on the world. As You guys or Gals may already know our last name is very unique and finding relatives wether local or distant is very hard to find. I'm going to give you a little insight of who Iam and where I came from, this way you at your disposition may Email me to either tell me a little more about your family and possibly if I may possibly be closely related to you. I'm 24 years old and reside in San Diego California. I am not born here and made the ardous trip here crossing the border illegally in 1984. I am from Cuernavaca Morelos in the Colonia Vista Hermosa which is not too far from Mexico City. I was brought to this earth with the help of a midwife and actually was born in the house my father built with his own hands. You could pretty much say I was born the old fashion way, but in those days a hospital was very costly and nevertheless I was one of the sixborn in the house. My father's name is Luis Salgado Abarca who married my Mother Maria Abarca Alvarez who are both from the State of Guerrero. My father was born August 24,1944 in Ixcapulxalco Guerrero to Mr. Onesimo Abarca and Isabel Salgado who are my granparents. My granfather was assasinated when my father was only 19 years old and unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to meet Him. My granmother on the other hand past away there after. My father tells me that my granpa was a well respected person of the town and was involved in politics and I think that is what led to his assasination. My father also tells me that my granpa was a womaniser and had several sibblings out of Wedlock. He had the opportunity to come to the USA to work as a farm worker in the early 50's and had traveled as far north as Sacramento following the crops that were in season. After doing this for a couple years he then went back to his Pueblo. I am told that my granpa was isolated from the rest of the brothers and sister due to him looking more like my great granma who was indian and he was not fair skinned like my great granfather who had spanish bloodlines. I guess as history can tell that back in those days ,when your skin was the color of mother earth and the bloodlines crossed, there was more liking to the sibblings who reflected such Spanish qualities. In respects to my father, he also inherited the genes of my granpa and believe it or not my fathers immediate brothers and sisters(Alex,Jorge, and Roselia)are alot more fair skinned than him. Likewise I also happen to be the darker colored brother of my inmediate family that is compose of Alfredo-22,Maria-26, Luis-28,Maricela-30 and Cristina-32. My mother brought to this world another little brother who we happen to love alot and he is 9 years. Danny is the first generation to be born here in America. As for the rest of my family,my sisters have children who were born here but only carry the Abarca name only in a surname. My older brother has received his Math teaching credentials from the University of San Diego and is now studying and working in San Francisco to attain his Civil Engineerings degree. At this time he is currently not married and has no kids;he feels his goals are more important to him. My younger brother Alfredo is attending Southwestern College in Chula Vista -no kids ,no marriage for him-also his goals are more important. I for myself am married to Nicole Castillo and have two beautiful kids. David is 4 years old and Gabriel is 2 years. I did not have the opportunity to attend college but I did graduate from Mount Miguel High school in 1995. I decided to pursue the construction trade ever since the ninth grade(weekends, holidays, and summers)and upon graduation I continued to work full time. I am currently an Estimator for J&M Keystone assesing water and fire insurance repair. I sure hope that none of this bored you or any way was it meant to offend you. Please E-mail me at dacraba@netzero.net if you would like to be penpals or share any information about our ancestry. Thank you and God Bless you all.

David Abarca.
