Excellent information for blacks genealogy research.
NOTE: A few whites used this bank system, also.
Societies, organizations, and some churches used this system.

Even though, I only viewed the FREEDMAN'S SAVINGS AND TRUST COMPANY microfilm on New Bern, NC., the participates were from everywhere on this one microfilm, such as: Alabama, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

I have the CD on the FREEDMAN'S BANK RECORDS, so I can look this same information up, also, in the comfrots of my home.

NOTE: However, it is important to see the actual document/microfilm page(s), because there will be information on these microfilms that is NOT listed on the FREEDMAN'S BANK RECORDS CD.

USE THE CD AS REFERENCE, THEN GET A COPY OF THE ACTUAL DOCUMENT/MICROFILM PAGE(s).
