Having no direct relationship to the early settlers of Ramapo Mountain, I can only tell you of the reference materials I found while doing some research for someone else. One of the most seemingly-factual accounts of the people of the Jackson-White group was written in 1836 by J. C. Storms and updated in 1845. As I recall, it's title is: Original of the Jackson-Whites of the Ramapo Mountains. I believe most major libraries would have it; and I know that it can be found at the Cleveland Library or other major libraries.
I hope this helps you.
