http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/topic/news/Butler/butlerheraldpg3.htm The Butler Herald Butler, Ga., Tuesday, June 20,1911 Negro Woman is Killed; Man is Arrested. Ada Watts, a negro woman, formerly of Butler and daughter of Uncle Harry Watts, was found dead in the dark town district of Atlanta, where the woman has been living the past year, Thursday morning with her head mashed in with a coupling pin and her throat cut. She had been dragged from the side of the street almost to the railroad bank, which is very steep at this point. It is thought that her murderers intended to let the train mutilate her body in an effort to hide the crime. John Daniel, a negro man, was arrested by Detectives and suspicion of being connected with the deed. Notify Administrator about this message?
