Jack Rogers, reported to have been 111 years old, died Wednesday at his home in Tupelo. For the past many years he was a familiar sight on the streets of Tupelo despite the fact that for years he had been barely able to walk.
"Uncle Jack" as he was known, lived in Fulton until several years ago, when he went to Tupelo to make his home. He served in the Civil War with his master and was 31 years old when the war started. Funeral services were held at Fulton Thursday afternoon, and interment of the body was in the Fulton Cemetery for Colored
