I am trying to find info on my paternal grandfather Clarence Patterson; I am looking to obtain a birth certificate but the copy of MY father's birth certificate (1947) that lists Clarences birthplace shows a town in Louisiana (Antrin?? Antrims?)that doesn't appear on any current town/city/village listings in LA.
According to my father's birth certificate, Clarence was 50 years old at my dad's birth in 1947 putting his birth year approx. 1897.
My grandparents separated when she moved to Washington state (early to mid '60's), but never divorced.
My dad said (now deceased) he was told that Clarence actually changed his name to Patterson from Green, but until I see a birth certificate, I can't validate that info.
It may change the whole direction of my search!
