Captain Sawyer.
New York has 3 Sawyers listed as being in the Army 1755-1762, none of them were a Captain.
At the battle of Lake George there were men from:
N.Y/ MASS./ CONN./ N.H./ AND R.I.
I Know that this doesn't help much, but at least it indicates that Captain Sawyer wasn't from NY.
