No hits........Nothing even close - SORRY!
Checked the New York Muster Rolls and found:
1) Abraham Van Gelder age 28 (From Germany) 1758 Kings
County NY
2) David Winchell age 31- 1755 - Capt. Schuyler's Company.
3) Elijah Winchell (winsell) age 23 -1762 - Capt. Vischer's Comp'y.
4) Joab Winchell age 18 -1762 - Capt. Haight's Company.

Some of the New York troops were sent to Major ROBERT ROGERS to train as Rangers through out the French & Indian War.
Poss. the Van Gelder and Winchell that are looking for, could be one of the above.
