John Peter Hoffman is listed in DAR, providing Patriotic Services. Three of his sons are also listed in DAR as soldiers: Christian b. 1752 John Nicholas b. 1749 and John,
b. 1746.

Go to Find-A-Grave (a free site). Type in Hoffman under surname; state Pennsylvania; Memorial #26059995 for photo of his gravestone.

There is a lot of info on Ancestry about him but to much to post here. Ancestry sometimes has a 14-day subscription at a reasonable price. Info is from Public Members listing.

You should also call or write to a genealogy/historical society in Dauphin Co., PA. for more info, especially about the French-Indian War. They may have books you can inter-library loan.

Good luck!

Marilyn
