Thank you for the information.

My confusion came from not finding any "Queen's Rangers" muster rolls with my gggg grandfather's name on them prior to 1780. Now I'm thinking if I were to find any muster rolls containing his name, the regiment name would be different. According to the British Archives website, his military record begins in 1776, when he was 15, but Queen's Rangers is the earliest regiment named. (Another researcher has ordered copies of the documents, so in the next couple of weeks I'll find out what the British military documents contain.)

Thank you for the suggestion about the letterhead - I would enjoy seeing that. And, I had never heard of Wiswell's book, so I am going to check into it.

Also, I didn't know Rogers recruited for the King's Rangers late in the war, but I had read some things that made me wonder, so I appreciate that input.
